Journal Workshop Take 2

Our first Journal Workshop making Recycled Journals was completely great.  After Jamie got us started with ideas and supplies, everyone went straight to work.  No one could believe two hours had passed when 5:00 came.  I’m looking forward to the second part of our series this Sunday, 3-5pm.  We’ll learn to bind our own journals using the historic long stitch!

Anything Goes 4/22

No Rules Journal-Making!

Journal Making Workshop

Learn new tools to tell your story by participating in journal-making workshops at the Gathering Place.  Workshops will be led by Jamie Karolich of the Living Arts and Science Center. Supplies will be provided, and it’s free to participate, though donations are appreciated.

Sunday, April 22 (3-5pm) Earth day Recycled Journals.

We’ll turn used books into personal art journals which can be kept and enjoyed for years to come. We will use old books to create a new journal using several techniques from collage, decoupage, painting, drawing, sewing and much more as we deconstruct the old books and reconstruct a new personal journal.

Sunday, April 29 (3-5pm) Historic Long Stitch Journals.

Bring your favorite fabric or use some of ours as we create and sew a Historic Longstitch Journal. We will provide paper, needles, fabric and thread. You will be taught the historic long stitch which you will use to turn your fabric and paper into a soft bound journal full of blank pages waiting to be filled with your personal story.
